Jewelry & Ring Care

Create a habit of getting this piece routinely cleaned and inspected. It is practically inevitable that diamonds become loose in a ring either due to a swift bang or simply overtime. Do not freak out when this happens, as with anything there is maintenance and care required. I cannot stress this enough: You need to get the stones checked on your jewelry once every few months. The frequency will depend on how rough you are on your jewelry. If you let this go, you will run the risk of something falling out. We would recommend doing this quarterly but if it is really an inconvenience, twice a year minimum. If you need to find a trusted jeweler, using google or yelp reviews will help. While we love taking care of our people, we are simply a computer office/diamond lab and do not have any repair equipment to assist in tightening loose stones.

Create a habit of placing the jewelry in the same spot. While we want you to sparkle all the time, it is wise to have a single special spot (like a ring dish) for your new jewelry in which you take it off and leave it when you sleep & shower (for all types of jewelry), cook, clean, workout, garden (for rings specifically). Platinum & gold, while sturdy, is not indestructible and quite malleable. Please treat this piece with mindfulness. If you sleep with jewelry on, it will eventually catch on fabric and pull the prongs back which can cause a diamond to fall out. You are going to prevent unnecessary headaches by not wearing this during sleep/shower/handiwork.

Insurance. You should insure your item as soon as it arrives. Some people add it under homeowners. If not, we highly recommend Jewelers Mutual. They are extremely reputable and easy to work with. Whoever you use, make sure you understand what exactly is covered.

To clean your ring at home, dilute a drop of chemical free dish soap in warm water & let it soak for a few minutes. Then take a soft toothbrush and gently scrub underneath stones. Rinse it off and voila!
